On the International Day for Countering Hate Speech, the International Peace Commission (IPC) reaffirms its commitment to promoting dialogue, mutual respect, inclusion, and peaceful coexistence.

In an increasingly connected world, hate speech spreads faster than ever before, fueling discrimination, conflict, intolerance, and violence. Countering hate speech is not only about rejecting harmful language—it is about choosing empathy over prejudice, understanding over division, and dialogue over hatred.

Peace begins with the words we choose.

As individuals, communities, educators, media professionals, leaders, and organizations, we all share a responsibility to create spaces where diversity is respected, human dignity is protected, and every voice can be heard without fear.

Through the IPC Global SDG Leadership Network, we are committed to empowering leaders who promote unity, build bridges across cultures, and strengthen communities through collaboration, education, and positive action.

When we launched the IPC Global SDG Leadership Network, our vision was never simply to appoint leaders.

Our vision has always been much greater.
From the very beginning, we set out to create a world where changemakers no longer work in isolation—a world where collaboration transcends borders, knowledge is freely shared, partnerships flourish, and local action creates global impact.

Imagine a community leader in South Africa collaborating with an educator in India, a climate expert in Brazil, a youth advocate in Kenya, a university in Canada, or a corporate partner in Europe—all working together to solve real challenges and improve lives.

Every day, remarkable work is taking place in communities across the world.
Yet too often these stories remain unheard.
Successful projects are never replicated.
Potential partners never meet.
Knowledge is lost.

The International Peace Commission (IPC) is pleased to announce another group of leadership appointments within the IPC Global SDG Leadership Network.

Following the successful completion of our review and onboarding process, we congratulate our newly appointed SDG Team Leaders and SDG Representatives who have joined this growing global initiative.

Every appointment follows a structured evaluation process, including application assessment, verification of experience and supporting documentation, completion of onboarding requirements, and acceptance of the IPC Leadership Commitment and Code of Conduct.

The IPC Global SDG Leadership Network is not about awarding titles—it is about bringing together dedicated individuals who are committed to advancing sustainable development through leadership, collaboration, and meaningful community action.

Our vision is to build a global platform where leaders, professionals, educators, researchers, youth advocates, grassroots organizations, and community changemakers can connect, exchange knowledge, develop partnerships, strengthen local initiatives, and work collectively to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

As applications continue to be received from around the world, the IPC Review Committee remains committed to selecting leaders based on merit, demonstrated commitment, leadership potential, and their willingness to actively contribute to the growth and success of this international network.

Under the theme Play Your Part: Youth Design the Future of Media and Information Literacy,"** the Hackathon invites young people aged 18–30 to collaborate, innovate, and develop practical solutions that strengthen Media and Information Literacy (MIL) in their communities.

Following the outstanding success of the 2025 edition—which brought together more than 1,200 teams from 138 countries—UNESCO is once again calling on the next generation of changemakers to turn innovative ideas into real-world impact.

The International Peace Commission (IPC) encourages young leaders, students, innovators, youth organizations, and members of the 𝐈𝐏𝐂 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐃𝐆 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞 and help shape a future where informed, responsible, and inclusive access to information empowers communities worldwide.

Over the years, the International Peace Commission (IPC) has had the privilege of connecting with individuals and organizations working to create positive change in their communities. Whether through education, peacebuilding, humanitarian service, environmental action, youth empowerment, health initiatives, or community development, one thing has become clear:

There are countless people doing incredible work, but many are working in isolation.

The IPC Global SDG Leadership Network was created to change that.

Our vision is to bring together leaders, professionals, educators, entrepreneurs, researchers, grassroots organizations, youth leaders, and community advocates from around the world into a collaborative global network dedicated to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.

This is not simply a leadership title or a membership program.

It is a platform for collaboration.

A place where people can connect across borders, share expertise, support projects, build partnerships, exchange ideas, mentor emerging leaders, and work collectively toward meaningful impact.

As our Founding Leadership Cohort continues to grow, we are welcoming leaders from multiple countries and diverse professional backgrounds. Together, they represent a powerful network of knowledge, experience, innovation, and commitment to service.

One of the most exciting aspects of this initiative is our focus on supporting grassroots organizations and local changemakers. Many communities already have passionate people creating positive change. Through this Network, we hope to help connect them with resources, training opportunities, partnerships, grant research support, media visibility, and a global community that believes in collaboration over competition.

Looking ahead, we are also working toward a dedicated digital platform that will allow members to connect, share activities, collaborate on projects, access resources, track impact, and build partnerships regardless of where they are in the world.

Today, we are still in the recruitment and onboarding phase, but the foundation is being laid for something much larger than any individual, organization, or country.
