World Refugee Day is June 20, 2026. As displacement crises grow, so does the need for us to lean into our shared humanity, and close the distance between crisis and compassion, and between ourselves and each other. Don’t forget to donate today at https://help.rescue.org/donate/us-dallas-tx

We may come from different countries, live in different cities, and tell different stories about our lives. But regardless of it all we are bound by our shared humanity, and we are the medicine for one another. This World Refugee Day help us close the distance between crisis and compassion by donating to the IRC at https://help.rescue.org/donate/us-dallas-tx

World Refugee Day is a time for celebration – to be grateful for the incredible relationships built and contributions made when we lean into welcome and do what’s right by those seeking safety and stability. But it’s also a time for action, as we come together to close the distance between division and solidarity, between crisis and compassion. Act by donating to the IRC today: https://help.rescue.org/donate/us-dallas-tx

Working with communities, the IRC delivers impact where it matters most. Internationally we train health workers to treat malnutrition and deploy mobile clinics, we help women access reproductive care in safe spaces, and we harness technology to extend our reach. Locally, we help newly arrived refugees navigate cultural and societal differences, access health care and employment, and connect their children to schools and support. 87% of our revenue goes directly to our program services and clients. Help us close the distance between uncertainty and stability. Donate at: https://help.rescue.org/donate/us-dallas-tx

Last week, IRC Dallas hosted Shawn Van Driver, President of , an organization dedicated to supporting the relocation of Afghan Special Immigrant Visa holders (SIVs)--allies who supported U.S. interests--to the United States. We had a great conversation about resettlement in the Dallas community and Shawn got to hear directly from the clients we serve through our town hall.

Mark your calendars for May 14th!
IRC will be represented on a virtual panel hosted by Rice University’s Baker Institute.
"On May 14, the Women’s Rights, Human Rights, and Refugees Program will host a free, public event examining protracted displacement in the MENA region. Panelists will discuss how prolonged displacement is reshaping humanitarian responses, host communities, and policy approaches. They will also explore connections to recent changes in the U.S. refugee resettlement system and the implications for refugees in Houston and beyond."

Isra began assisting the PIR (Program of Initial Resettlement) team during a transition period and we were without a housing specialist - she immediately stepped in to help fill that critical gap. Since then, she has become an immensely valuable teammate. Isra is always willing to jump in wherever she’s needed, we are incredibly grateful for her support!

Jessica was an amazing help during our VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program. She attended IRC orientations, got IRS certified and came to the tax center every week!
