BIKE SAFETY:

On Friday, June 12th, 2026, Deputy Sheriff Alec Elderkin visited Davenport Head Start to provide a presentation to the students on the importance of bicycle safety and wearing a properly fitted helmet. Deputy Elderkin gave each of the children a new bike helmet to take home and a bicycle safety coloring book for parents to read with their children at home to continue reinforcing safe biking habits.

We are truly blessed by the wonderful people and communities of Delaware County, and we appreciate their continued trust in requesting our partnership and assistance in delivering educational outreach programs. By working together we can help keep our children safe while they enjoy the opportunities summer weather permits.

Thank you to Davenport Head Start for the invitation, the thoughtful thank you card and for your commitment to the safety and well-being of the children in our community.

Today, members of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office had the pleasure of attending the 2026 Meredith Dairy Fest. The beautiful weather, good sized crowds, and great food made for a wonderful day celebrating our local agricultural community.

It was also enjoyable to visit with our friends, Assemblyman Chris Tague and Senator Peter Oberacker, and to see so many familiar faces throughout the day.

A sincere thank you to the Dairy Fest Committee for including us in this year’s festivities and for organizing another outstanding event. We appreciate all of the hard work that goes into making the Dairy Fest such a success!
