Tomorrow, Servicios is honored to be a proud sponsor of the Ceremonia Xupantla 2026, an annual Summer Solstice ceremony hosted by Grupo Tlaloc. This gathering brings together elders, youth, families, and community members to preserve cultural traditions, share knowledge across generations, and strengthen our collective commitment to community and healing.
Please join us as we gather to honor the Summer Solstice through traditional Danza Azteca, prayer, song, and ceremony. Xupantla is a time to reflect on our connection to the earth, give thanks for the blessings of life, and celebrate the resilience and wisdom of Indigenous peoples.
We are proud to support this important cultural event and the work of Grupo Tlaloc in uplifting Indigenous voices, traditions, and youth leadership throughout Colorado.

Over the years, our Raíces Latinas Gala has become an important—and cherished—event here at Servicios where we get to celebrate our culture, honor leaders and changemakers, and raise money for our life-saving programs.
However, given the massive changes in federal policies and funding, Servicios is pivoting this year to a No-Gala “gala” so we can dedicate 100% of any funds raised to go directly to programs and services—instead of a hotel rental, catering, and other event-specific expenses. Donors will still receive an amazing assortment of perks, depending on the giving level. Please consider making as generous a donation as possible—our community could really use the support.

For more info, or to donate directly, please contact VP of Development James Gillespie at [email protected] or at 720.761.1321.

Today we honor the legacy of Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzales in what would've been his 98th birthday. ✊
Born June 18, 1928, right here in Denver, Corky was a boxer, poet, activist, husband, father, and one of the founders and leaders of the Crusade for Justice, the Chicano rights movement of the 1960s. Among his many achievements, Corky gave us the landmark poem "Yo Soy Joaquín" and a vision of Chicano pride and self-determination that continues in the work we do at Servicios de La Raza, whose President and CEO is Rudy Gonzales, one of Corky's sons.
Rudy shared with us a pair of candid family photos of him and his brother with their father, first when they were kids, and later in 1983.

🚊 The Maya Train, a massive infrastructure project which aims to promote tourism across the Yucatan peninsula, has faced recent controversy due to its failure to alleviate poverty in rural communities. The indigenous Mayan people, who the project is named after, have seen few benefits from the train. Those who live close to the train described power lines built for the project while they continue to live with little to no power. Still, the Mexican government promises that the project will promote development in the region but says that it will take time.
Will the Maya train help Mayan communities, or will the project leave them in the dark? What do you think? Let us know in the comments. 👇
