We want to hear from you! 🗣️Denver Economic Development & Opportunity (DEDO) is gathering community feedback to help shape a new Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area (NRSA) in the proposed areas of Athmar Park, Barnum, Barnum West, La Alma Lincoln Park, Sun Valley, Villa Park, Valverde and Westwood.
We want to hear from residents, businesses, nonprofits, community groups that are in or serve the proposed designated neighborhoods. Your input will help guide future housing, economic development, public services, and neighborhood improvements using federal U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds. 🌱

📣 DEDO and the Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) want to hear from YOU. We’re gathering feedback to help choose the next round of Opportunity Zones (OZ 2.0) in Denver.
💡 What’s an Opportunity Zone?
It’s a federal program that encourages investment in low income neighborhoods. Investors get tax benefits when they support local real estate projects or businesses.
🗺️ We’re asking residents, community leaders, and anyone interested to share which eligible census tracts should be prioritized for OZ 2.0 designation.
🗣️ Your voice helps us understand where this tool could make the biggest impact.

🏙️ The Denver Enterprise Zone (DEZ) program has updated its boundaries for 2026. Your business may now be eligible for state income tax credits that support job creation, employee training, and facility investments.
➡️ Businesses are encouraged to use the updated Enterprise Zone map to see whether their location falls within the new boundaries and to explore the available tax credit program.

🤝 Denver Economic Development & Opportunity (DEDO) and Denver Public Schools (DPS) are continuing support of students through the Denver Youth Employment Program (DYEP), a program that connects students with workforce development, career exploration, and opportunities to pursue their passions and goals through real-world work experiences with local organizations, businesses, and growing industries.
🏢 The program offers pre-employment training sessions and paid work experiences, ensuring students are connected to meaningful work-based learning, expanded professional networks and financial literacy courses.
🗣️“Investing in youth employment opportunities is one of the strongest ways to invest our local economy and build our future workforce,” said Tony Anderson, Chief Workforce Development Officer, Denver Economic Development and Opportunity. “This partnership is helping build a pipeline for students to learn skills, real-world experience, networking, financial literacy and so much more that you can’t get just inside the classroom.”

🎷🎸🎙️ Meet , a community driven live music venue, neighborhood bar and restaurant located in the Baker neighborhood on South Broadway. They offer live music featuring local artists along with sport watch parties, jazz nights and community-focused events.
With support from Denver Economic Development & Opportunity’s Business Facade Improvement Grant, they were able to install new front windows, a new front entrance, garage-style patio doors and a new patio fence that significantly improved the functionality and appearance of the property.
The owner shared, “As small business owners who personally invested heavily into building Bar 404, this support helped us continue improving the business while contributing to the ongoing growth and revitalization of the Baker neighborhood and South Broadway corridor.”
