The Friends of CTBL support the Colorado Talking Book Library in it's efforts to provide print disabled residents of Colorado alternate reading formats.

The Colorado Talking Book Library, or CTBL, is a free service to Coloradans of all ages who are unable to read standard print material due to visual, physical, or learning disabilities whether permanent or temporary. CTBL provides audio, Braille and large-print books and magazines. To learn more about the CTBL and all it has to offer, check out our website:

Narrated Soundscapes

Narrated Soundscapes take you on immersive audio journeys through the landscapes of four national parks. A new Narrated Soundscape drops at brailleinstitute.org/summer-reading-program/ every other Monday starting June 22. Once posted, each one remains available so you can explore at your own pace.

Braille Institute/NLS Program: Peter Heller in Conversation with Maeve Conran

Tuesday, June 16 at 2 pm join us online as best-selling author Peter Heller discusses his novels, The Dog Stars (DB075493), which is being released in August as a major motion picture directed by Academy Award-winning director Ridley Scott and starring Oscar-nominated actor Jacob Elordi, and The Orchard (DB134029), with Colorado Public Radio journalist Maeve Conran. They will explore what it means to unearth a story and how landscape becomes a character.
