Allyson says "learning isn't just about the content, it's also about the connection we make with our students. Making sure our students feel safe, seen, and supported can make a huge difference in their learning abilities." 🌈

Juneteenth is a day to celebrate freedom, honor Black history and culture, and uplift Black voices and communities. It's also a time to reflect on our past and continue working toward a more equitable future.

For their final team meeting, Corps for a Change members designed their dream schools using everything they’ve learned from serving in schools this year. ✨

"The sky was the limit, and it was so cool to see the members create spaces that were designed with students in mind -- they included things like a penguin mascot, accessible classrooms, unique career pathways, ethical fish tanks, outdoor spaces, lots and lots of support for staff and students, and so much more!"

Reading Corps member Juanisha brought reading goals to life with a year-long project, Rooted in Reading, starting with a paper “reading tree” in the classroom that bloomed with leaves and milestones as students grew. 🌱📚

By the end of the year, that growth took root beyond the classroom with real trees planted at the school and at students’ homes.

“As these students continue learning and growing, their tree will do the same,” Juanisha shared. “Reminding them that even though goals aren't met right away, growth is still happening and every step forward matters.”
