said it best, it is disappointing that lawmakers failed to pass common sense safeguards that will protect us. Regardless of the outcome of this legislative session, the work to protect our energy bills, water, and air will continue.

A recent poll showed 91% of Coloradans want guardrails around data centers to protect us against rate hikes, protect our water, and keep our air clean. Many thanks to Senator Cathy Kipp and Representative Kyle Brown for listening to Coloradans and sponsoring legislation that would have created fair rules for Big Tech and put Coloradans over corporate greed.
Unfortunately, the Colorado legislature didn’t get the job done and we remain unprotected from the data center boom.

Without the proper safeguards, Big Tech gets to build their large-scale data centers on our dime. SB102 ensures new data centers won’t make our energy bills more expensive than they already are. Time is running out for lawmakers to vote YES on SB102, but with your voice, we can seal the deal.

Data center mayhem is moving faster than any one of us can keep up with. But together, we can create the path forward so that hardworking Coloradans don’t pay the price of data centers and Big Tech plays by fair rules-It’s that simple. With only one week left in session, now is the time to vote YES on SB102.

Signal Tech, a coalition of Colorado’s tech businesses, has come out in support of SB102. Why? Because it balances the need for fair rules and accountability for the world’s wealthiest corporations while still tapping into Colorado’s innovative economic spirit.
If Big Tech’s data centers want to come to our state, this is the best path forward. With less than a week to go in the legislative session, let’s make sure our decision makers are hearing our voices!
