GOTR Long Island inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident. The program culminates with the girls being prepared to run a 5k!

A physical activity-based program for girls grades 3-8 to provide tools to help them grow physically and emotionally over the course of the 10-week curriculum.

Today, we commemorate Juneteenth — a day to honor freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of justice for Black communities across the country. It’s a time to reflect, celebrate the impact of Black Americans, and recognize the strength that comes from unity.

At Girls on the Run, we believe every girl deserves the opportunity and support to reach her full potential. We’re dedicated to building spaces where joy, connection, and community can grow for girls from all backgrounds.

As we honor this pivotal day in U.S. history, we recommit to a future that is inclusive and equitable. How is your family honoring Juneteenth this year? Share in the comments.

As we reflect on another incredible Girls on the Run season, we're looking back at some of our teams' creative and thoughtful Community Impact Projects, as part of their Spring 2026 season.

For this team, the GOTR girls decided to make bracelets and goodie bags for the North Shore Animal League America volunteers. A representative from North Shore even came to practice to pick them up and pose for a photo.

Thank you, girls, for recognizing the amazing volunteers in our community! Way to go!

Many of today’s girls struggle with self-image issues and low confidence. Growing up is tough, and in 2026, it’s even more complicated with social media and unrealistic societal norms.

Host a Girls on the Run team and empower girls to be confident when facing challenges and preserve even when it gets tough. You will connect them with other peers, caring, trained coaches, and a community where everyone’s ideas matter.

We LOVED seeing all the inspiring signs at our Girls on the Run 5K!

From words of encouragement to creative messages that brought smiles to our participants' faces, every sign made the day even more special.

Thank you to everyone who showed up to cheer, celebrate, and remind our girls just how strong, capable, and supported they are. Your encouragement helped carry them all the way to the finish line! ✨🏃‍♀️

We may have crossed the finish line, but we're already missing our Girls on the Run teams!

From meaningful conversations and confidence-building lessons to laughter, movement, and friendship, every season brings moments that stay with us long after the final practice.

It’s a beautiful day to represent at East Meadow Community Day! Come see us!

During each Girls on the Run season, our girls come together as a team to create, plan and execute a Community Impact Project, and we're always excited to see the beautiful ways they decide to give back.

From coming up with ideas, deciding as a team which idea to do, figuring out how to bring that idea to life, and finally seeing their idea made real, these GOTR girls are discovering how much good you can do with an idea and your friends beside you.

For two of our teams, we really saw their creativity shine through. One team made beautiful bookmarks and another created a positive message rock garden. Way to spread your Star Power!
