The Wilson Borough Police Department has received an increasing number of complaints regarding the unsafe operation of bicycles, electric bicycles (e-bikes), scooters, and electric scooters on roadways within Wilson Borough. Many of these complaints involve juvenile riders.

In response to these concerns and in the interest of public safety, the Wilson Borough Police Department will be conducting targeted enforcement patrols in the coming weeks, with a focus on traffic law compliance and electric bicycle regulations.

We would like to remind all riders that bicycles and e-bikes operated on public roadways are subject to the same traffic laws as other vehicles. Riders are expected to obey all applicable traffic laws, including traffic signals, stop signs, and roadway rules.

We also encourage residents to review the chart below to familiarize themselves with Pennsylvania's legal requirements for the operation of bicycles, e-bikes, scooters, and similar devices on public roadways.

Please note that electric scooters and unregistered electric devices that are not equipped with operable pedals are not legally permitted to be operated on public roadways in Pennsylvania.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping keep our roadways safe for everyone.

On June 4, 2026 between the hours of 1:00pm and 2:00pm the Wilson Borough Police Department received several complaints of a male on a bicycle harassing females in the area of S. 24th Street and Sycamore Street. The male was described as a younger, light skinned male, short curly hair, wearing all black clothing. He was last seen riding a black in color bicycle.
