Could a Libertarian Tip the Texas Senate Race?
Ted Brown claimed 2.4 percent of the vote in his last Senate run. That could be enough to spoil a tight race, writes River Page.

This should be the easiest pledge in politics: represent your voters, not a foreign-connected PAC network.
Last week, in a political first, the Libertarian Party of Texas took a clear stand against AIPAC and foreign-connected political influence in American elections.
Others have talked about it. Some have debated it.
We decided enough talk.
American elections should be decided by Americans.
The resolution sets a clear standard: LPTexas will not accept or support candidates who accept political support from AIPAC or any foreign-connected political organization.
The resolution also calls for transparency, including FARA registration when legally required, and opposes PACs, Super PACs, or political organizations acting on behalf of, directed by, or primarily advancing the interests of a foreign government.
Texas candidates should represent Texas voters.

TED BROWN KICKS OFF U.S. SENATE CAMPAIGN
AS ALTERNATIVE TO CORRUPT TWO-PARTY SYSTEM
Austin, TX, June 16, 2026 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Libertarian Ted Brown just began his maverick U. S. Senate race against Republican Ken Paxton and Democrat James Talarico. Brown won the nomination at the Libertarian Party’s state convention April 11 and will appear on the November ballot as the alternative to the two major parties.
Brown, 65, a retired insurance adjuster and small business owner from Austin, is a longtime Libertarian Party activist. In 2024, He ran against Ted Cruz and Colin Allred and won 267,039 votes, a record number of votes for a Libertarian Senate candidate in Texas.
“I am looking for politically homeless voters who reject the corrupt two-party system that has brought our country to a crisis point,” said Brown. “My campaign will appeal to Republicans who yearn for the limited government and fiscal responsibility they once championed. Many Republicans are dismayed that their party nominated one of the most corrupt Texas officials in memory for Senator.” Brown supports digital privacy and other personal liberties that are being snatched away by both major parties. Brown is also courting voters who are sick and tired of military interventions and endless wars and want our elected officials to handle problems here at home.
Brown stresses that he is not beholden to any special interest groups or corrupt party leaders. “I have no connection to the insiders in Washington. I’m not going there to schmooze with lobbyists and raise money from special interests. I’ll be an independent voice for Texas who will protect and defend the Constitution and Bill of Rights. I’m ready to aggressively oppose the ill-considered, costly bills that Congress regularly passes, as well as oppose the Executive Branch whenever it violates the separation of powers and rule of law.”

Pat Dixon is running as the Libertarian Party candidate for Governor of Texas with a message that reframes how politics should be done:
“A political campaign should not be war. It should be a job interview. My opponents are not my enemies.”
This campaign is about restoring respect, reason, and responsibility to public service. Leadership should be evaluated through ideas and integrity—not conflict and division.
