๐๏ธ๐๏ธโก This week, Canutillo ISD ACE Summer Program students became urban planners, architects, civil engineers and electrical engineers as they designed and built their very own city!
To spark their creativity, students visited the El Paso Museum of History and the Mexican American Cultural Center, where they learned how the past has shaped the Sun City we know and love. They returned with fresh ideas, new perspectives and plenty of inspiration to bring their city to life.
Along the way, students explored the real-world careers behind city-building, learning about job responsibilities, educational pathways and even potential salaries.
Theyโre not just building a city โ theyโre building the future of El Paso, one idea at a time! ๐ก๐

Today, we honor Juneteenth โ a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience and the ongoing pursuit of equality. Juneteenth traces its roots to Texas, where on June 19, 1865, enslaved people in Galveston finally learned they were free.
At Canutillo ISD, we believe learning about our nationโs history helps us build a stronger, more inclusive future for all. As we celebrate Juneteenth, we reflect on the importance of freedom, opportunity and the power of education to open doors for every student.
Happy Juneteenth from Canutillo ISD! โค๏ธ๐ค๐
