For more than 10 years, I - along with some truly amazing El Pasoans - have been working to position our community as a leader in advanced manufacturing.

I was proud to present the Advanced Manufacturing District Innovation Factory with another $250,000 I secured to continue to build opportunities for early-stage entrepreneurs and companies.

Did you know that earlier this year, there was a homicide at Camp East Montana? Last week, it was announced that the evidence regarding this homicide “went missing or destroyed.”

Congress deserves to know exactly what happened. This was a crime to cover up a murder.

Reliable infrastructure is public health, quality of life, and future growth. Where we invest our money matters, and that’s why I was proud to present $1 million in federal funding to the Village of Vinton to expand critical water services.

My focus will always be to improve the lives of El Pasoans, and I remain committed to delivering federal resources back home and ensuring our communities across El Paso are not overlooked.

Yesterday, I presented $1.031 million in Community Project Funding to El Paso Makes, which is bringing together local El Paso manufacturers to develop a research project aimed at producing greater defense-aerospace production right here at home.

El Paso has the talent to lead the nation in manufacturing technology, and I’m proud to continue bringing federal resources home to grow our economy and create lasting opportunities for El Pasoans.

Nearly $1 million to improve flood alerts for our community’s families and emergency responders. $3.8 million to upgrade stormwater mitigation for Central El Paso.

Projects like these save lives – and every year, I work tirelessly to secure these critical federal dollars that protect El Pasoans and strengthen our community’s infrastructure. This morning, I was proud to celebrate these two major investments, and I look forward to continuing to deliver for El Paso.

Last week, it was confirmed that contractors at Camp East Montana were paid up to $11.5 million for food services while the facility was *empty.*

This is just one of the clearest examples of fraud, waste, and abuse I’ve seen at CEM.

I proposed an amendment that was accepted to direct ICE to get that money back.

Every year, I fight to bring back critical federal funding home to El Paso, but it frequently takes years for these community-led projects to come to fruition.

I was excited to join Sun Metro as they launched a new fleet of electric micro-transit vehicles funded through money I secured. Projects like this help connect El Pasoans to work, school, and opportunities across town.

I will continue to use my seat on the House Appropriations Committee to deliver for our community.

Texans across the state, in a bipartisan way, have unified around saving Big Bend National Park and preventing a wall. From ranchers, law enforcement, local law enforcement, and elected officials on both sides of the aisles everyone agrees: leave Big Bend alone.

Republicans STILL voted to allow the Trump administration to build a wall.

We’re the richest country in the world, where nobody should go hungry.

I’m grateful to for dropping off these reminders of why I do this work.

My commitment to restore funding for programs like SNAP and WIC will not waver.

Republicans will tell you they expect English to be the official language of this country, and then turn around and cut all of the funding for schools with *mandated programs* that teach English.
