Juneteenth marks a powerful moment in our nation’s history, June 19, 1865, when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas to ensure that the last enslaved people were finally informed of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Today, we honor this history, celebrate Black culture and resilience, and reflect on the ongoing work toward justice, dignity, and equality for all.

At Catholic Charities Counseling & Adoption Services, we are committed to serving our community with compassion and respect, recognizing the strength and stories of every individual and family we walk alongside.

In observance of Juneteenth, our office will be closed on June 19. We will reopen on Monday, June 22.

Wishing you a meaningful and joyful Juneteenth.

Every child deserves stability, care, and a place to call home.

Through our adoption and permanency services, we walk alongside children and families, providing guidance, support, and care at every step of the journey.

From home studies to place and beyond, our goal is to help create safe, loving, and lasting connections.

When a child finds permanency, it changes more than one life. It strengthens entire families and communities.

While Erie Gives is one of the highlights of our summer, the impact of your support is felt every single day.

In the past year, our team has been blessed to walk alongside:

▪️ 1,000 individuals seeking healing through professional mental health and addiction counseling
▪️ 176 children through permanency services
▪️ 543 newly arrived neighbors as they began rebuilding their lives

This work is made possible by a community that chooses to care.

As Erie Gives approaches on August 11, we’re reminded that one day of generosity helps sustain a mission that reaches lives year-round.

This May, for Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re reflecting on the people we serve and the support we provide at Catholic Charities Counseling & Adoption Services.

Here’s what we hope our community remembers:

❤️ Everyone has mental health.
❤️ Mental health conditions are common and diagnosable.
❤️ Strong well-being is possible even while managing a condition.
❤️ Poor mental health doesn’t always mean mental illness.
❤️ Simple self-care practices can make a big difference.

At CCCAS, we’re here to offer compassionate counseling and support for anyone struggling. You’re not alone, and help is always within reach.

Sometimes, the hardest part is simply knowing where to begin.

Our counseling services are designed to meet people where they are with care that is strength-based, person-centered, and grounded in compassion.

In addition to supporting those navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, and life transitions, we also provide a range of dedicated addiction services. Our team works with individuals and families impacted by substance use, offering hope, guidance, and a path toward healing and recovery.

No one has to walk these journeys alone. We’re here to support people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and financial situations.
