Please be advised that Union Pacific’s Big Boy No. 4014, the world’s largest operating steam locomotive, will journey to the East Coast this summer for the first time as part of a historic coast-to-coast tour celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.

The locomotive will pass through Wesleyville along Water Street. On Tuesday June 9th, It is scheduled to depart Conneaut, Ohio, at approximately 9:00 a.m. and arrive in North East at approximately 11:30 a.m., so it is expected to pass through the Borough sometime between those times.

Safety Tips

Stay at least 25 feet away from all railroad tracks. This includes drones.
Railroad tracks, trestles, rail yards, and rights-of-way are private property. Do not trespass.
Never assume tracks are abandoned or inactive—always expect a train.
Be a safe and considerate driver; do not pace the train.
Be aware of your surroundings. While every effort is made to provide access for all guests, Big Boy is operating in a working rail environment with uneven walking surfaces that may present accessibility challenges.

Get ready to hunt for hidden treasures, score great deals, and explore yard sales throughout Wesleyville!

Below is a list of participating addresses, but don't stop there—many other residents may also have items out for sale. Take a drive through the Borough and see what treasures you can find!

Please be advised that the next week will be action-packed with road work throughout the Borough!

On Thursday, June 4, and Friday, June 5, resurfacing work is scheduled for:
• Center Street (Fremont Street to Edison Avenue)
• Fremont Street (Water Street to Riverside Drive)
• A spot repair on Eastern Avenue near Edison Avenue

Then, from Monday, June 8, through
Wednesday, June 10, weather permitting, seal coating (tar and chip) will be completed on approximately 37% of the Borough’s road network. View the attached map for reference.

Unfortunately, there is no update on the Euclid Boulevard Reconstruction Project at this time. Borough staff, PennDOT, and the Borough Engineer continue to work to finalize the materials and documentation needed to move the project forward.
