What actually happens when AI enters an artistโ€™s studio? And maybe more importantlyโ€ฆ what doesnโ€™t? ๐Ÿ‘€

Hosted by the Broward County Cultural Divisionโ€™s Public Art & Design Program and curated by Sophie Blachet, join us for the final Cultural Rendezvous of the season on ๐‰๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐Ÿ—โ€“๐Ÿ๐Ÿ ๐€๐Œ at MAD Arts in Dania Beach featuring โ€œThe Loop and the Tool: AI in a Working Studioโ€ with transdisciplinary artist Dimitry Saรฏd Chamy

Through real projects, live experimentation, and honest conversation, Dimitry will explore how AI has become part of his creative practice, from organizational systems and coding collaboration to developing entirely new interactive works.

The talk will also dive into The Unreading Room, a participatory archive project โ€œvibe-codedโ€ before its debut, opening up a larger conversation around the evolving role of AI in creative spaces.

This is one you wonโ€™t want to miss. Make sure to RSVP here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1988836879645?aff=oddtdtcreator

If you havenโ€™t made it to ๐˜š๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ฎ๐˜ข ๐˜๐˜ด ๐˜•๐˜ฐ๐˜ธ yet, consider this your reminder! The exhibition closes June 27 at African American Research Library and Cultural Center

Through the lens of photojournalist James โ€œSpiderโ€ Martin, ๐˜š๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ฎ๐˜ข ๐˜๐˜ด ๐˜•๐˜ฐ๐˜ธ captures one of the most pivotal moments in American history. His photographs documented the 1965 voting rights marches in Selma, Alabama, bringing the courage of peaceful protesters and the realities they faced into homes across the country.

60 years later, these newly restored images continue to resonate, offering a powerful opportunity to reflect on the ongoing impact of the Civil Rights Movement and the individuals who helped shape our democracy.

Donโ€™t miss your chance to experience this moving exhibition before it closes!

If youโ€™ve already visited, weโ€™d love to hear what resonated with you most. And if not, tag someone youโ€™d like to experience it with. ๐Ÿ‘‡

Broward Cultural Divisionโ€™s Public Art and Design team celebrated the official unveiling of Flora and Fauna, a stunning new permanent public artwork at the expanded Broward County Convention Center.

Created by internationally recognized artist Martin Donlin, with an original inlaid poem by Broward-based Allied Artist Darius V. Daughtry, this monumental terrazzo installation draws inspiration from South Floridaโ€™s natural landscapeโ€”capturing the movement of water, marine life, and the spirit of our natural environment.

This project represents the power of public art to transform spaces into meaningful, immersive experiencesโ€”welcoming millions of visitors with a sense of place, creativity, and connection.

A special thank you to the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, County Administration, Visit Lauderdale, and the many departments, partners, and project team members who brought this vision to life. We are especially grateful to the Public Works & Environmental Services team, the Convention Center team, and Creative Terrazzo Systems for their craftsmanship and collaboration.

As we celebrate 50 years of arts and culture in Broward County, this installation stands as a lasting reflection of our community, environment, and shared story.
