📻📡A podcast built on community connection has placed Broward County on a national stage! 🎦

“Broward Connects” the Broward Board of County Commissioners’ podcast produced by the Office of Public Communications, has earned a National Association of Counties (NACO) Achievement Award in the “Civic Education and Public Information” category.

The NACo national honor recognizes innovative programs that elevate the numerous county services that touch the lives of county residents across the country every day. 🌎🗽

Congrats to our own Commission Public Information Officer and Media Liaison, Kimberly Maroe who hosts and writes the program and to the Office of Public Communications who bring Broward County’s story to life. Each episode features Broward Commissioners, county experts, city leaders, and the civic superheroes who deliver county services to Broward’s 1.9 million residents.

🎉Broward County earned a total of 19 NACo Achievement Awards this year, recognizing the wide range of services that make a difference in people’s lives including libraries, mobility, cultural arts, environmental services and employee initiatives that connect residents with County government.

👏Congrats to all of our winners for this well-deserved national recognition and for the good work you do every day!

🚑What if 911 could see what you see? 👀

That’s the future Broward is preparing for with Next Generation 911.

Broward County Commissioners have awarded a multi year agreement to Motorola Solutions Connectivity, Inc. to serve as the County’s Next Generation 911 (NG911) Core Services Provider.

⬆️ This major upgrade will allow 911 callers to send a text, photos, video and digital data so first responders can get clearer information, faster.

“Broward County is proud to lead the way in public safety innovation,” said Mayor Mark D. Bogen. “With Next Generation 911, we are ensuring that our residents and first responders have access to the most advanced and resilient emergency communications system available. This transition will save lives and strengthen our community for years to come.”
