We have more air cooling units available for low-income Fort Worth residents thanks to Reliant Energy. Eligible Fort Worth residents can request a cooling device to help beat the heat at home, while supplies last. Priority is provided on a first-come, first-served basis, with top priority given to vulnerable populations such as seniors, individuals with disabilities and families with children ages 5 and under. Great news! No need to boil water for residents in Northside Fort Worth and area. The water is safe to drink without boiling.

Fort Worth rescinds boil water notice

On June 15, 2026, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Fort Worth public water system (PWS #2200012), to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of June 16, 2026 at 11:15 a.m.

The bottled water distribution location at North Tri-Ethnic Center, 2950 Roosevelt Ave., is closing at 1 p.m. today.

Early Tuesday morning, water crews completed the repair of the main break that caused the boil water notice. The break was in a 24-inch cast iron water line at NW 28th Street and Rosen Avenue.

The affected areas were the near northside and along the north shore of Lake Worth. All bacteriological samples taken Monday in the affected areas passed bacteriological testing, and TCEQ approved rescinding the boil water advisory.
