*An Ombudsman is a volunteer appointed by the commanding officer.
How can an Ombudsman assist you?
* Ombudsmen are the tool for passing along information, such as programs within the community, resource materials available in the civilian or military community, and can assist in emergency situations.
* Ombudsmen has an understanding of the military lifestyle. The ombudsman is
liaison between the Command families and the Commanding Officer. I am bound by a cod
e of ethics including confidentiality. The only time I am not confidential is when reporting the following-All suspected, alleged or known child abuse/neglect -Alleged domestic abuse -Suspected or potential homicides, violence or life-endangering situations and Sexual assault. Navy Family Ombudsmen are required to report to the command and/or the appropriate authorities on the reportable listed above.
