As the summer temps heat up, now is a good time for a reminder about the signs of heat stroke and heat exhaustion -- and how to respond. During the day, True Worth Place serves as a cooling station so our neighbors can get out of the heat. Water is available at True Worth Place and at Presidio Courtyard.
This summer, a little awareness goes a long way as we all try to keep our neighbors safe. Looking out for one another really matters.

Ten years ago, we started a brand new social enterprise designed to lower barriers to employment and help individuals experiencing homelessness get a job and an income. What began as Clean Slate, with just two employees picking up litter is now UpSpire, with hundreds of employees doing a wide variety of jobs for numerous customers across the city. We continue to grow, expanding our reach and improving our services.
Congratulations, UpSpire, on ten years of grit, growth, of life-changing work!

Celebrating 10 Years of The Morris Foundation Family Services Center!
Ten years ago, on June 6, 2016, we cut the ribbon on a new chapter for families experiencing homelessness. The Morris Foundation Family Services Center opened its doors with a simple but powerful purpose: to provide hope, safety, and support for families working toward a brighter future.
Designed to be colorful, welcoming, and family-centered, the center created space for 40 families to begin their journey home.
A decade later, that mission continues. Through case management, child advocacy, housing support, and other essential services, so many parents and children have found stability, healing, and hope within these walls over these past ten years.
As we celebrate this milestone, we are grateful for all the donors who made this vision possible, the volunteers who have generously given their time, the staff members who have served with compassion, and, most importantly, the families who have entrusted us to walk alongside them on their journey.
Here's to 10 years of changing lives—and many more to come.

The laundry facilities at True Worth Place just got an upgrade! We recently replaced a number of washer/dryer units that had reached the end of their life spans with six brand new units.
Guests are able to access our free laundry service every day at True Worth Place. Laundry is dropped off at 7:00am. Vocational volunteers then wash, dry, fold, and pack it up. Guests can then pick up their clean laundry around 2:00pm.

Did you know that more than half (55%) of adults experiencing homelessness have experienced PTSD at some point in their lives? Or that about one-third of adults experiencing homelessness meet the criteria for PTSD in a given year?
This PTSD Awareness Month, we recognize the connection between trauma and homelessness. Nearly one in five individuals report their PTSD symptoms began or worsened after they became homeless.
Healing begins with safety, stability, and the kind of support Presbyterian Night Shelter can provide. This PTSD Awareness Month, please remember those whose stories include both hardship and resilience.

We believe in fresh opportunities! For families staying at The Morris Foundation Family Services Center, that is exactly what they get.
Take Veronica and John, for example. Along with their daughter, Willow, they are making the most of the resources and support available to them, like parenting classes and case management. "This place means everything," Veronica says.
