Fill a classroom, not a landfill!

06/24/2026

Teachers are real-life heroes who go above and beyond for their students every day! Raquel from Fossil Ridge High School in Keller ISD helps her students hem and patch worn clothing. Until now, she has been using her personal sewing machine for advanced repairs. Thanks to our wonderful Welman donors, she doesn't have to take projects home anymore!

Our teachers LOVE fabric, sewing materials, and equipment. If you are looking for a good home for your stashing, our donation appointment calendar can be found at my.thewelmanproject.org/givestuff. Summer is our busiest season, so we may be booked out a week or two, but we accept up to one box or bag anytime we’re open without an appointment!

There’s still time to have the best summer ever!

Last week’s Wellie Wonder Summer Camp theme was Bees, Seas, and Trees, where Wellie Wonder campers explored art through nature, as well a variety of art techniques! Birds nest sculptures from handmade paper, porcupine buddies using a variety of power tools, decoupage seashell trinket trays - they even learned the nautical alphabet!

Be The Neighbor students from University Presbyterian Church in Austin had a great time visiting The Welman Project during their education justice trip! This group of neighbors used our Makerspace to build a Little Free Library for their community AND learned about the importance of advocating for public education! Thanks so much for choosing to spend time with the Wellies, not only learning about, but also contributing to our mission to fill a classroom, not a landfill!
