I was proud to stand in support of ACR 222, declaring June as Alzheimer's Disease and Brain Awareness Month.

This is personal to me and we MUST find a cure for these horrendous, debilitating brain diseases. We must also recognize and speak up for those who provide 24/7 care for our loved ones living with dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, MS, and others.

Get Involved: Find local and virtual events through the Alzheimer's Association!

Wear Purple: Support the official color of the campaign by sharing your story or wearing purple to spark conversations. Assess Your

Brain Health: Access resources and tips on reducing cognitive risk via the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

is wishing all those dads out there a very special and happy Father’s Day today 👔👨‍💼💙

June is also Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month. This intersection serves as a sobering reminder to recognize fathers while acknowledging the vital mental health struggles men face, the stigma they endure, and the importance of encouraging them to seek help.

If you’re a dad out there and you’re trying your best, then keep it up and we hope today you celebrate yourself. 💙

participated in Juneteenth Events all throughout our district today including Madera, Fresno, and Merced! We honored local leaders in the black community in all respective cities throughout our district!

Juneteenth celebrates the end of slavery in the Union. As a result of protests in Southern states like Texas, full emancipation was not achieved for nearly two and a half years after Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation in 1863.

We celebrate Juneteenth because on June 19, 1865, Union soldiers reached Galveston, TX, and the last group of slaves were freed. In addition to commemorating this momentous occasion with parties, festivals, and barbeques, Juneteenth emphasizes education and achievement in the Black community.

It represents Black empowerment, resilience and excellence, and fosters cultural understanding and appreciation.

Juneteenth marks a major significance in history and proves that 161 years of freedom and racial equality have always been a hard-fought battle for Black Americans — a battle that continues to this day. I want to take a moment to recognize two individuals who have dedicated over 60 years combined in public service to the state of California.

As many of you know, I'm proud to serve as California's Assembly Agriculture Committee Chairwoman, it's a very important role. Some of the most important bills in the legislature come through the Agriculture committee. Bills that help our farmers, bills that help put food on our tables, bills about expositions and fairs, farmers markets, food access, food labeling, and so much more!

Sadly, the committee is losing two Titans in public service in Victor Francovich and Nicole Willis.

Victor has served as the Chief Consultant for the Assembly Ag Committee for years now and has been on the committee since 2009.

Nicole has served diligently as the Committee's Secretary for the past five years, and previously served on the Rules committee for 22 years.

We're wishing both of you a happy and very well deserved retirement!

The Young Legislators Program is special to me. It's something I started years ago when I first stepped into public service.

It's an opportunity similar to the one I had as a young student finishing high school and starting college. Now, for years, students in the Central Valley have been taking advantage of the YLP program.

Giving them a first-hand look at what a career in public service might look like. Hands-on experience in the way California's legislature works, how bills become laws, how you can elevate your own community, and how you can use your voice to make a difference.

It is truly remarkable to see the impacts this program has made on so many young future leaders in our valley.

Thank you to all the students this year who participated in the program and we at hope you got everything you wanted out of the experience!
