Update 6/19/26: Due unexpected delays, the installation of the flashing beacons along State Route 180 in Mendota between 2nd Street and 11th Street will now begin June 29th.
FRESNO COUNTY — The Department of Transportation (Caltrans), in cooperation with Pelagic Engineering, will install rapid flashing beacons at 10 locations along State Route 180 between 2nd Street and 11th Street in Mendota in Fresno County beginning Monday, June 22nd, 2026.

FRESNO COUNTY —The Department of Transportation (Caltrans), in cooperation with Wylatti Resource Management, announces the following schedule update in part of the Fresno State Route 168 Culvert Rehabilitation Project in Fresno County.
The following will occur beginning June 28th:
• The contractor will continue rehabilitating a segment of culverts between Lodge Road and Qualls Prather Road along State Route 168.
o To rehabilitate this segment of culverts, the contractor will be working Sunday through Thursday from 6:00pm to 6:00am.
• During the rehabilitation of these culverts, the contractor will be utilizing one-way reversing traffic control where there is only one lane in each direction present and lane reductions where there is more than one lane in each direction.
o Commuters are reminded to obey flagging personnel and pay close attention to road construction vehicles and personnel.
Closures may continue for longer periods of time, if necessary, due to delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events that may occur.
Caltrans Construction personnel remind you to drive with extra care and allow additional travel time while travelling in the construction area. Please be alert for Road Construction Personnel and “Slow for the Cone Zone.”

FRESNO COUNTY — The Department of Transportation (Caltrans), in cooperation with Pave Tech Inc., announces the following schedule update in part of the State Route 180 Rumble Strip Project in Fresno County.
The following will occur Sunday through Thursday from 7:00pm to 5:00am, beginning June 25th:
• The contractor will begin installing rumble strips along State Route 180 beginning on the western end of the project limits near Mendota and work their way towards Fresno.
• To perform the installation, the contractor will be utilizing one-way reversing traffic control within the limits of the work zone.
o Commuters are reminded to obey flagging personnel and pay close attention to road construction vehicles and personnel.
Closures may continue for longer periods of time, if necessary, due to delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events that may occur.

FRESNO COUNTY —The Department of Transportation (Caltrans), in cooperation with Viking Construction, announces the following schedule update in part of the State Route 168 Shaver Lake Viaduct Project in Fresno County.
The following will occur Thursday, June 25th:
• The contractor will perform controlled blasting operations along the hillside of State Route 168 within the project limits in continuation with work site preparation.
• During the blasting operations, the contractor will hold and manage traffic along State Route 168 utilizing one lane reversing traffic control.
o Commuters are reminded to obey flagging personnel and pay close attention to road construction vehicles and personnel.
Closures may continue for longer periods of time, if necessary, due to delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events that may occur. Commuters are advised to plan accordingly.

Caltrans removed an encampment on June 16th located on State Route 180 near Abby Street in Fresno. During their work, Caltrans crews collected 2.5 cubic yards of debris. Affected individuals were offered services by our outreach partners.

FRESNO COUNTY: Southbound Interstate 5 currently closed at Jayne Avenue due to a traffic collision involving a semi-truck. Delays are to be expected; motorists should plan accordingly. No ETO at this time.
