The Momnibus Act is a comprehensive effort to address maternal health disparities, improve access to care, support community-based providers, expand mental health resources, and invest in healthier outcomes for mothers and babies.

This is not just a healthcare issue. It is a matter of equity, dignity, and ensuring that every family has the opportunity to thrive.

That’s nearly three years without North Carolina lawmakers agreeing on a comprehensive budget that addresses the needs of our communities, schools, infrastructure, and public services.

When elected leaders fail to do their jobs, families, educators, local governments, and taxpayers are left with uncertainty.

North Carolinians deserve leadership that focuses on solutions, accountability, and results, not political gridlock.

Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and honors the resilience, strength, and contributions of Black Americans throughout our nation’s history.

Juneteenth is more than a historical milestone. It is a reminder that freedom, equality, and opportunity require continued commitment, civic engagement, and community action.

Members of the Gaston County Democratic Party were proud to participate in today’s Juneteenth celebration, connecting with neighbors, sharing information, and honoring the legacy of those who fought for justice and civil rights.

As we reflect on our past, we also look toward the future, working together to build a community where every voice is heard, every person is valued, and every family has the opportunity to thrive.
