🏗️ Exciting things are happening in Downtown Gastonia!

Today, community leaders gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of the former Citizens National Bank building, marking the start of a redevelopment project that will transform the historic property into a new destination for business, dining, and community connection.

Completely renovating the building, the project will feature 80 free public parking spaces on the ground level, helping address a key downtown need, while the upper floors will be reimagined as a restaurant named The Fed, and business club.

The project is being spearheaded by developer Jim Morasso, whose portfolio of downtown investments includes Webb Custom Kitchen and the Rustin Building. The renovation also highlights the strength of local collaboration, with GBA Investors Helt Design and Rycon Construction playing key roles in bringing the vision to life.

☕️This morning’s GBA Breakfast Series gave us a valuable look at Hickory’s growth journey and the lessons Gaston County can learn from a community that has experienced many of the same opportunities and challenges we face today.
