On November 16, 2025, at approximately 10:23 PM, Traffic Homicide Detectives responded to the area of State Road 7 and Fletcher Street for a traffic crash involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers located the victim who was suffering from life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported by fire rescue to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Detectives immediately initiated an extensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Through a comprehensive investigative effort that spanned multiple jurisdictions, detectives determined that the suspect, Kelvin Taylor, was operating a vehicle traveling southbound on State Road 7 when he struck the victim. The investigation revealed that after striking the victim, Taylor failed to stop, render aid, or notify law-enforcement and emergency medical personnel. He fled the scene, leaving the victim in the roadway. Through the collection and analysis of physical evidence, digital evidence, surveillance footage and other findings, detectives identified Taylor as the driver involved in the fatal crash. He’s been arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death.

Members of the Hollywood Police Department’s Quick Response Team (QRT) regularly train to enhance their skills, strengthen teamwork, and maintain readiness for critical incidents. Through realistic scenarios and hands-on exercises, officers continue to build the knowledge, confidence, and coordination needed to respond effectively when called upon.

Training is more than practice, it’s a commitment to protecting our community and being prepared for whatever challenges may come.

Today, Chief Jeff Devlin, along with members of his command staff, and officers from the Hollywood Police Department proudly participated in the annual Juneteenth Parade at Washington Park.
Events like these are always a wonderful opportunity to connect with our community, celebrate our shared history, and honor the significance of Juneteenth, a day that commemorates freedom, unity, and progress.
We are grateful to everyone who came out to celebrate and look forward to continuing to build strong relationships with the residents we are privileged to serve.

It is with great sadness that we share the tragic passing of retired Sergeant Ivette Buoni, who dedicated 15 years of service to our department and our Hollywood community.

Throughout her career, Sergeant Buoni served with integrity, professionalism, and a deep commitment to protecting others.

We honor her legacy and extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones.

On June 12th, just before 4 a.m., HPD Officers located a stolen vehicle traveling on N State Road 7. An officer successfully deployed the Grappler, bringing the stolen vehicle to a stop. The arrestee, Reuel Sculley, was taken into custody without incident.

At today’s Hollywood City Commission meeting, Chief Jeff Devlin recognized several members of the Hollywood Police Department for their outstanding service, professionalism, and dedication to our community.

Honorees for January included Officer Cameron Graziadei as Officer of the Month, Crime Scene Technician Osvaldo Ciriano as Employee of the Month, and Officers Bryan Rodriguez-Diaz, Erik Hernandez, and Julian Saltzman, who received the Lifesaving Award.

February honorees included Detectives Nancie Toler, Justin Leo, and Sean Keough as Officers of the Month, Officers Jonathan Palacios and Jacob Pierce as Lifesaving Award recipients, and Detective Danielly De Andrade and Officer Dwayne Chung, who were both presented with the Chief’s Special Recognition Award.

March honorees included Officer Christian Ricano as Officer of the Month and Crime Scene Technician Aimee Zeidell as Employee of the Month.

These award recipients distinguished themselves among their peers through exceptional service, dedication, and commitment to excellence.

Their contributions continue to make a positive impact on our department and the residents we proudly serve. Congratulations to all of today’s honorees on this well-deserved recognition. 👏🚔
