This Father’s Day, we honor the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who help build strong homes and strong communities. 🏡💙

A stable home is the foundation for everything—family, opportunity, and lasting memories. At the Housing and Community Development Department, we are committed to supporting safe, affordable, and sustainable housing so families across Houston can continue building their futures together.

Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Juneteenth 💚❤️🖤

Today HCD honors a pivotal moment in African American history, marking June 19, 1865 the day freedom reached the last enslaved African Americans in the United States.

We also recognize that the pursuit of freedom has always been connected to the ability to build a home 🏡, create stability, and invest in future generations.

We celebrate the resilience, achievements, and contributions of African American communities—past and present—and reaffirm our commitment to equitable access to housing and opportunity for all. ✨

As we celebrate National Homeownership Month, we're taking a look back at some of the lives touched through our Single-Family Home Repair Program. 💙 These homeowners were able to remain in the homes they love while receiving critical repairs that improved their quality of life, enhanced safety, and preserved their investment for years to come. 🔨🏠Their stories are a reminder that homeownership is more than a house—it's stability, memories, opportunity, and a foundation for the future. ❤️ As we gear up for a month of celebrating homeownership, join us in looking back at the homeowners, families, and communities whose lives have been impacted through these investments. 🌟🔑
