Don’t let the summer heat take you by surprise. As temperatures rise, taking precautions can make a big difference. Keep yourself and others safe by staying hydrated, limiting time outdoors during peak sun hours, and checking in on those who may be more vulnerable. ☀️

SMP Scam Warning! If you are mailed a plastic Medicare card, don't "activate" it. Medicare is not sending plastic Medicare cards. This is a scam. If you get this letter, please report it to the SMP.

Nursing homes are an important place for older folks to live and thrive. However, some dishonest facilities (even some associated with national chains) have taken to fraudulent billing. If you run across any of these examples, please report them to your state .

Remote patient monitoring (RPM) covers a wide variety of services a provider may offer to help monitor or assess certain chronic conditions.

SMPs are hearing about RPM claims appearing on Medicare statements, like the Medicare Summary Notice (MSN) and/or Explanation of Benefits (EOB), where the beneficiary does not believe they received or agreed to the services.

If you see any RPM claims on your Medicare statement that you did not agree to, contact your local SMP.
