A wonderful evening was had at The Japan-America Society of Houston, Inc.'s annual JASH Bash, celebrating outstanding leadership and cooperation in Japan-U.S. relations! 🎉🥳 Our congratulations go to Mr. Satoru Akama, CEO of Daikin Comfort Technologies North America, Inc., on receiving the J. Thomas Schieffer Leadership Award, and to Mr. Jim Crane, Owner and Chairman of the Houston Astros ⚾️, on receiving the Houston-Japan Friendship Award. Their contributions to strengthening Japan-U.S. relations are especially meaningful this year, as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.

The event was made even more special by the attendance of Ambassador J. Thomas Schieffer, whose service in Japan greatly advanced Japan-U.S. connections. 🇯🇵 🇺🇸A heartfelt thanks goes to JASH for their tireless efforts, and the Consulate-General of Japan in Houston looks forward to continuing our strong partnership! 🤝

Can you dig it? 🪏🤖 Minato Legend Japan paid a visit to the Consulate-General of Japan in Houston to introduce their entry into the 2026 FIRST LEGO League Championship. This year's competition had the theme of “Unearthed”, challenging teams to develop LEGO robots to explore the world’s buried mysteries. As Japan’s national champions, Minato Legend gave special focus to the Chibanian – a geological age named after unique strata found in the students’ home prefecture of Chiba.

During the visit, the team delivered the English speech they prepared for the contest and practiced their English with the consulate’s local staff. Way to go, Minato Legend! 🇯🇵
