⚽ The FIFA World Cup in Houston is here, and the Houston Dynamo FC and Houston Dash have launched their Soccer Celebration Community Tour to celebrate! Wussow Park’s soccer complex is one of the tour’s stops and will have FREE sessions every Tuesday, June 16th - July 14th.

🚲 The Houston Police Department has increased eBike patrols in the District as warmer weather brings more outdoor recreation-seekers. Using eBikes makes patrolling less strenuous, especially during the hot summer months, and allows officers to respond faster.

Say hello to Sheena Childs, the new Community Relations Liaison-West Aldine for Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia! Childs has a long track record of public service after 15 years working at the City of Houston. In her new position at Precinct 2, she is focused on being a familiar face and resource to the community.

🚔 A safe community is a thriving community. For National Police Week, we’d like to recognize and thank the Houston Police Department, Harris County Sheriff's Office, Houston METRO Police Department, and Aldine ISD Police Department for their collaborative efforts toward maintaining public safety in the District. Their partnership keeps the area safe and secure for residents, visitors, businesses, and their employees.

🚧 The N. Houston Development Corp (TIRZ 11) has been hard at work on Rankin Rd construction. The $5M infrastructure project includes concrete panel replacements on roadways, enhanced intersections, colored and stamped concrete crosswalks, and updated landscaping.

Phase 3 of the Greens Bayou Coalition’s Green Up Greens Bayou project was a success! ✅ Thanks to 67 volunteers from NRG Energy, Frost Bank, Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages, and other North Houston businesses and stakeholders, 90 native trees were planted in the Harris County Flood Control District’s Glen Forest Basin.

The basin provides vital flood mitigation by accumulating extra stormwater to protect apartments and businesses in the District. Discover more about Green Up Greens Bayou here: 🗞️

Green Up Project Revitalizes Greens Bayou Basin Green Up Greens Bayou Tree planting transforms a flood basin into green space, boosting flood control, habitat, and aesthetics through community partnerships.
