As Houston prepares to celebrate Juneteenth, Kinder Foundation® was pleased to join Emancipation Park Conservancy and Mayor John Whitmire to discuss recent park improvements and the importance of preserving and activating this historic community space.

We are proud to support the new stage at Emancipation Park and look forward to seeing it serve as the backdrop for this year’s Juneteenth celebration. We encourage the community to join the festivities on June 19 from 4-10 p.m.

Kinder Foundation is proud to support the Rebirth in Action project, an important investment in the future of Houston Freedmen’s Town. Led by Houston Freedmen's Town Conservancy and Contemporary Arts Museum Houston in partnership with the City of Houston, the project will preserve historic row houses, create new community spaces and strengthen neighborhood infrastructure.

By honoring the history of Freedmen’s Town while investing in its future, Rebirth in Action will help ensure this important Houston community continues to thrive for generations to come.

Kinder Foundation was pleased to join community and civic leaders for Discovery Green Conservancy’s inaugural "A Night of Discovery." The event highlighted the important role Discovery Green continues to play in bringing people together through public art, programming and shared experiences in the heart of downtown Houston.

Juneteenth celebrations at Emancipation Park carry deep historical and cultural significance for Houston. As one of the city’s most important historic gathering spaces, the park continues to bring the community together to celebrate freedom, culture and connection.
