On February 26th, Dr. Melissa Markofski and Dr. Heather Caslin traveled with 3 graduate students and 8 undergraduate students to Waco, TX to attend the Texas American College of Sports Medicine meeting. With 5 research poster presentations and 2 student bowl teams, our students represented UH well! Students and faculty also had the opportunity to hear from academic and industry leaders in the field about emerging research findings, career pathways, and all things sports medicine.

Congrats to UH student bowl participants Matthew Nguyen, Amy Pham, Maya Williams, Isabel Issakhan, Uniasha Ocon, and Olivia Broaddus, and great work to our poster presenters Arman Rasti, Kingsley Oforka, Matthew Nguyen, Olivia Broaddus, and Miah Barras.

It was a great experience and we look forward to attending next year.

It’s GAME OVER for HHP Games 2025!!

Students and faculty brought their game faces this year as they competed in educational and entertaining events to win prizes. It also gave everyone in the HHP department an opportunity to engage with peers all while having some fun.

This year we introduced the Organ Trail game featuring the Anatomage Table during Lab-lympics. We hope this can become an invaluable learning tool in the classroom for both faculty and students.

We also brought back some OGs (original games 😉) such as the food brawl and the ping png tournament.

Thank you to all the judges who helped facilitate the event and congratulations to all the winners.

It was exciting to see everyone partake in some friendly competition and we look forward to seeing everyone back next fall for HHP Games 2026!
