β€οΈπŸ€πŸ’™ Juneteenth celebrates freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality.

Did you know? The Juneteenth flag was created to symbolize a new beginning for formerly enslaved people in the United States. The star represents Texas, where Juneteenth originated, while the bursting outline around it symbolizes a new horizon and freedom for all. The red, white, and blue colors serve as a reminder that Black history is American history.

Today, we honor the significance of Juneteenth and reflect on its enduring impact on our nation.

Giving back through service. 🀝

Our youth helped assemble 802 Child ID Kit components for Crime Stoppers of Houston, supporting an initiative that helps families prepare for emergencies involving missing children.

Each participant earned community service credit and received a certificate of completion recognizing their contribution.

The project provided youth with an opportunity to make a meaningful impact, serve their community, and experience the value of helping others. 🌟

⚽✨ A special day at The Opportunity Center.

We celebrated the ribbon cutting of two new soccer mini pitches, creating a space where youth can stay active, build teamwork skills, and connect through the game.

This project was made possible through the support of Houston reVision, Bank of America, Street Soccer USA, Visa Foundation, and the Office of Commissioner Lesley Briones, Precinct 4.

Thank you to our partners for helping create new opportunities for youth and the community. πŸ’›
