Dr. Opal Lee is known as "The Grandmother of Juneteenth" because her activism helped become a federal holiday.

Douglaston/Little Neck Library, located at 249-01 Northern Boulevard, will be closed starting Friday, July 3 for the construction of a new building.
The last day of public service will be Thursday, July 2.
