🦟 Mosquito Spraying Scheduled - June 19
The City will be conducting mosquito spraying on Friday, June 19, to help reduce the adult mosquito population. While spraying helps, residents can also do their part to stop mosquitoes from breeding around their homes.
🪣 The "Mosquito Bucket of Doom" Trick
An easy and inexpensive way to reduce mosquitoes is by using a 5-gallon bucket:
Fill a 5-gallon bucket about 3/4 full of water.
Add dead leaves, grass clippings, or straw to create organic matter and let it sit for a couple of days.
Sprinkle in Mosquito Bits (containing Bti, a natural bacteria that targets mosquito larvae) according to the package directions.
Place the bucket in a shady area of your yard.
Female mosquitoes are attracted to the bucket to lay their eggs, but the Bti kills the larvae before they can become biting adults. It is safe for people, pets, birds, and wildlife when used as directed.
✅ Also remember to:
Empty standing water from flower pots, tires, toys, and birdbaths.
Clean gutters regularly.
Keep pools and ponds properly maintained.
Working together, we can help reduce the mosquito population and make our community more enjoyable this summer.
