📢 Juneteenth Celebration Update

After careful consideration and out of concern for everyone’s safety, the City of La Porte has determined that it is best to cancel today’s Juneteenth event due to inclement weather.

We know many of you were looking forward to celebrating with us, and we sincerely apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience. The safety of our vendors, volunteers, performers, and community members must come first.

Thank you for your understanding, support, and continued commitment to our community. We appreciate everyone who planned to attend and helped make this event possible.

Please stay safe, and we look forward to celebrating together at future community events.

Due to severe weather, street flooding, and the active Flash Flood Warning in our area, today’s Juneteenth celebration is officially canceled. Streets are already flooded, and conditions are hazardous, so please stay off the roads and remain safe indoors.

While we are incredibly disappointed that weather disrupted today's event, safety comes first. We look forward to seeing everyone at our celebration next year.

🍽️ FREE food starts at 5:00 PM while supplies last!

Introducing our 2026 Juneteenth Grand Parade Marshals! 🥁✨

We are incredibly honored to announce the outstanding individuals leading our Grand Parade this Saturday. Both of this year’s marshals represent the very best of La Porte through their dedication to leadership, faith, and public service:

✨ E. B. Scott – A proud La Porte native, University of Houston graduate, and former track athlete who had the distinct honor of running with the Olympic Torch in 1996. Today, he is an award-winning international speaker, poet, consultant, and published author dedicated to inspiring others through literacy and community service.

✨ Shamarian “Shaye” Lister – A devoted wife, mother of five, minister, and entrepreneur who recently became a published author with her 2026 devotional, Take a Breath, Mommy! Shaye has spent over 25 years in law enforcement, serving our city for the last 17 years as the Crime Victim Liaison for the La Porte Police Department. As she beautifully puts it: "Faith, family, service, and community are at the heart of everything I do."

Please join us in celebrating these two phenomenal leaders as they lead the procession down Broadway this weekend! 🙌❤️

Bring the whole family to Five Points Plaza (100 S Broadway) on June 20th for our Annual Juneteenth Celebration! We are honoring this historic day with a massive Kids Zone packed with activities to keep the little ones smiling all evening long.

3 PM: Parade (Down Broadway from G to A Street)
4 PM - 9 PM: Juneteenth Festival & Kids Zone
4 PM - 7 PM: Foam Party 🫧
7 PM - 9 PM: Glow-in-the-Dark Putt-Putt ⛳️
