From all of us at the Nevada Republican Party, we wish you and your family a very happy Father's Day! Today, we celebrate the men who help shape Nevada and make it such a special place to call home.

Please find a very special note from our Chairman, Michael J. McDonald:

"My father, John J. McDonald, was a World War II Veteran and the bravest man I ever knew. He was my coach, my teacher, and my hero.

He walked with me through good times and bad, he lifted me up when I was down and put me in my place when I needed guidance. He taught me everything I know about sports and life. While I excelled in sports, it was the things he taught me about life that became the most important lessons: to always help the less fortunate, to always give a man a hand up - not hand out, how to be a leader, and most importantly how to be a good listener. He taught me how to be a man.

I was fortunate enough to have grown up with both of my parents and our home was open to everyone, especially those who didn’t have a Father. My dad became their dad too. He always made sure that no kid felt left out or alone. He was the dad they didn’t have and the man they needed in their life. He made sure they felt wanted and loved.

Today, as we celebrate all the Father’s in our lives, I will fondly remember the difference my Father made in so many peoples lives. May all of the Dad’s out there enjoy their special day and be reminded of how much they mean to someone else.

Wishing all of you Dad’s a Happy Father's Day. If you are still lucky enough to have your father please take the time to let him know how much he has meant in your life.
