📚🚒 A Day of Learning, Laughter, and Community! 🚒📚

The Lawrence Fire Department was proud to welcome students and teachers from the Lawrence Early Childhood Center for a special visit to the fire station.

From exploring the fire trucks and learning about fire safety to meeting firefighters and seeing how the station operates, the students had an unforgettable experience. Judging by the smiles and excitement, the teachers may have had just as much fun as the kids!

These visits are about more than fire safety—they are about building connections, strengthening community relationships, and showing our youngest residents that the fire station is their home too. Learning, being part of the community, and having fun together are some of the most rewarding parts of our job.

Thank you to the students, teachers, and staff of the Lawrence Early Childhood Center for spending part of your day with us. We loved having you at the station and look forward to seeing you again!

❤️🚒 Serving our community goes beyond responding to emergencies—it’s about being part of the community every day. 🚒❤️

📚🚒 ¡Un día de aprendizaje, risas y comunidad! 🚒📚

Jacqueline’s Chicken Grand Reopening! 🎉🔥

The Lawrence Fire Department is proud to join our community in celebrating the grand reopening of Jacqueline’s Chicken, a Lawrence institution that has served residents with dedication, hard work, and pride since 1999.

Known throughout the city as “Los Pollitos de la Lowell,” Jacqueline’s became much more than a neighborhood business—it became a gathering place, a local favorite, and a part of the fabric of our community. For generations, families have enjoyed their famous fried chicken and the welcoming atmosphere that made this Lowell Street establishment so special.

Following the devastating fire on October 20, 2025, many wondered how long it would take for this beloved business to return. Today, their reopening stands as a testament to the resilience, determination, and strength of both the owners and the Lawrence community. Their comeback is a reminder that when challenges arise, our city comes together, supports one another, and rebuilds stronger than before.

We are grateful to see the doors open once again and the neighborhood filled with the familiar sights, sounds, and aromas that have been missed by so many.

Congratulations to the entire Jacqueline’s Chicken family on this exciting new chapter. The City of Lawrence is proud to have you back, and we wish you continued success, prosperity, and many more years of serving our community.

Welcome back, Jacqueline’s Chicken—Lawrence is glad to have you home. 🚒❤️🐔

Gran reapertura de Jacqueline’s Chicken! 🎉🔥

June 6, 1944 – D-Day

Today, the members of the Lawrence Fire Department pause to remember the heroes of D-Day and the brave men who stormed the beaches of Normandy 82 years ago. The success of that operation marked a turning point in World War II and helped secure freedom for future generations.

The men and women of what is often called the “Greatest Generation” answered the call without hesitation, facing extraordinary danger with courage, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to something greater than themselves.

Their legacy continues to inspire the fire service today. Like those who came before us, firefighters are called to serve others, work as a team under difficult conditions, and place duty above self when our community needs us most. While our missions are different, the values of courage, honor, sacrifice, and service remain the same.

As we remember the thousands who gave their lives on D-Day, we also honor all veterans whose dedication and sacrifice have protected our nation throughout history.

We will never forget the courage displayed on the beaches of Normandy, and we remain grateful for the freedoms secured by those who answered the call on June 6, 1944.

A quick and coordinated response by Lawrence Fire Department companies prevented a fire from extending in an occupied home situated on a hillside, where challenging access conditions added to the complexity of the incident.

Knowing your district, understanding the terrain, and working together as a team makes all the difference. Through training, experience, and teamwork, crews were able to quickly contain the fire and protect neighboring properties.

Today, the Lawrence Fire Department joined the Lawrence Police Department, Councilor Stephany Infante, Father Paul O’Brien, Principal Lucey, Jose Javier, and Joe Viel at Lawrence Catholic Academy to show our support for the school community.

It was a wonderful afternoon spent with the students and staff. Principal Lucey treated all the children to flavored snow cones, with “Tiger Blood” proving to be the crowd favorite!

Lawrence Catholic Academy is truly a special place, filled with dedicated educators, supportive families, and outstanding students. We are grateful for the opportunity to visit and continue building strong relationships within our community.
