A great win for Nebraska's working families!

Nebraska governor, lawmakers celebrate permanent extension of childcare subsidy eligibility Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen was accompanied by lawmakers on Tuesday for the ceremonial signing of a law that eliminates a sunset date for expanded eligibility for federal childcare subsidies.

Our own Greta Carlson is at the Nebraska Young Child Institute event this week in Kearney to promote Nebraska Growing Readers - and our collaborative efforts around childhood literacy.

That's our own Mikayla Wicks pulling weeds at the North Platte Catholic Community Food Pantry's community garden! She volunteered with our friends from Families 1st Partnership & Straight Up Advocates to learn about food resources in North Platte and the work to help support families.

Their hard work, positive attitudes, and willingness to serve are helping us grow fresh produce that will benefit local families in need throughout our community.

Straight Up Advocates is a peer-support group that brings people together through encouragement, education, resource sharing, outreach, and mutual support. We are grateful they chose to give back through service in our garden.
