Could you design a truss bridge? Youth attending today's "Design It. Built It" workshop presented by Lancaster County Engineering each designed one, and built one out of straws and tape.

Engineers also presented two other 4-H Clover College workshops: Monster Machines and Treasure Map (utilizing mapping skills).

South 98th Street is ready for you! Improvements between Van Dorn Street and Pioneers Boulevard are complete and the fresh asphalt roadway is now open for travel. This marks the completion of the S. 98th St, Old Cheney to A St. improvement project which was proposed at a public information meeting in November of 2021, designed by the Lancaster County Engineering Department over 3 years, and finally completed by Constructors Inc. Project coordination has been provided by NDOT and we could not have completed this road without the cooperation and financial support provided by the Federal Highway Administration, Lancaster County, the City of Lincoln, and Matadol LLC. Lancaster County Engineering Department has completed snow removal on the county's paved roads and will be ceasing operations for today. Winds of up to 40 mph are expected overnight which may produce drifting that could impact the cleared roads, so the department will be back on the road at 6:00 am. Tomorrow morning we will also be evaluating conditions of the county's unpaved/gravel roads to determine further clearing activities.
