This week, I welcomed a delegation from Ukraine to the Capitol. They are visiting Nebraska to meet with companies specializing in irrigation solutions to explore how we can utilize Nebraska's irrigation expertise to address agricultural challenges Ukrainian producers are facing.

Our offices will be closed Friday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth. Referred to as America's second independence day, Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.

Congratulations to the newest Nebraska State Troopers! Camp 73 celebrated their graduation today at the State Capitol and I had the honor of swearing in this courageous group of Nebraskans. May their careers with the State Patrol be both safe and fulfilling.

Always a pleasure to speak at Cornhusker Boys' State, where I get to meet some of Nebraska's most civically engaged students. This year I highlighted the importance of getting involved in elections and voting. I have no doubt these young men will go on to serve our state well.

Honored to speak with a group of international security professionals visiting the Nebraska this week with the U.S. State Department International Visitor Leadership Program. We talked about the role Nebraska plays in security, including addressing food security through agricultural innovation.
