To wrap up National Safety Month, focus this week on preventing slips, trips, and falls. Here are some key facts to keep in mind:
* Nearly 480,000 workers were injured in falls, slips, and trips and needed days off work
(BLS, 2023–2024).
* Median days away from work due to falls, slips, and trips: 8 days.
(BLS, 2023-2024)
* Sprains, strains, and tears are the most common injuries from these incidents.
(NSC, Injury Facts, 2023-2024)
* In 2024, 844 workers died in falls—17% of all workplace deaths.
(BLS, 2024).
Keep walkways clear, clean up spills promptly, and wear proper footwear. Small changes can lead to big safety improvements.

Safety includes both physical and mental health. This week, focus on managing stress, improving work-life balance, and seeking support when needed. Consider these mental health statistics:

(MindShare Partners, 2021 Mental Health at Work Report).
• 84% said their workplace conditions contributed to at least one mental health challenge

• 81% of workers say they’ll be looking for workplaces that support mental health in the future
(APA’s 2022 Work and Well-being Survey results)
