It’s been a great weekend and half in Omaha for the CWS! It all comes down to tonight. Be safe and enjoy the game!

This DUI arrest last night started with a move over violation. Always have a sober driver and move over for vehicles stopped roadside.

To the fathers who serve Nebraska in many capacities within NSP, Happy Father’s Day!

Some are spending Father’s Day on the road, helping keep other families safe. Be safe and thank you for all you do every day, for your family and the people of Nebraska.

Today we remember a hero, father, grandfather, and true friend, Trooper Jerry Smith #373, who gave his life in service to Nebraska on June 20, 2019.

May his life of service will always inspire us all.

Our hearts are with the family and friends of Trooper Sergio Romero at the loss of their hero this week. Please keep them and all of Texas Department of Public Safety in your thoughts.

It is with great sadness that DPS announces the death of Texas Highway Patrol Trooper Sergio Romero.

Trooper Romero was attempting to conduct a traffic stop along US-287 near Childress, around 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, when a truck-tractor semi-trailer pulled out in front of him, causing his patrol unit to collide with the vehicle. Trooper Romero died on scene.

Trooper Romero answered the call to serve each day with honor and remained steadfast in his commitment to protecting and serving Texans. The DPS family will never forget the ultimate sacrifice he made in service of this state.
