๐ง Road Closure Notice โ North Pecos Street ๐ง
The former bar building located at 838 N. Pecos Street is scheduled for demolition beginning Tuesday, June 16, through Thursday, June 18.
To ensure public safety during the demolition process, N. Pecos Street between Mesquite Street and Tank Street will be closed to traffic. A signed detour route will be in place to help motorists safely navigate around the work area.
Residents and drivers are encouraged to plan for possible delays and use alternate routes when traveling in the area. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as this property is removed.

๐ฃREMINDER: OUTDOOR WARNING SIREN TEST TODAY AT 1 P.M.
The 5-siren outdoor warning system will be used to alert Lockhart residents of impending severe weather and/or chemical emergencies. Activation criteria for the City of Lockhart includes;
โข The U.S. National Weather Service (NWS) issues a Tornado Warning.
โข The National Weather Service (NWS) issues a Severe
Thunderstorm Warning and indicates the potential for
destructive winds of 70 mph or greater.
โข Observed hail of 1.5 inches in diameter (ping pong ball) or
greater.
โข Any observed weather condition, which is judged to be
hazardous to people and early warning would potentially save
lives.
This notification system is developed for Central Texas and administered by the Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG). The warning system will notify citizens of Lockhart by phone call, text or email for emergencies such as: tornados, severe weather, flooding, and local emergency information.

UPDATE: 5/15/2026 2:45 pm. Opened for traffic flow
TRAFFIC ALERT ๐ง
FM 142 at SH 130 is currently closed in both directions after a truck hauling a track hoe struck the bridge/overpass. SH 130 officials and Lockhart Police and the Fire Department are on scene and will be inspecting the overpass for damage. SH 130 is staying open.
Please avoid the area and seek alternate routes until further notice. Updates will be provided as information becomes available.
