We’re working hard to keep it clean in CD13!

We recently partnered with StreetsLA to clean and powerwash bus stops in the Hollywood, Larchmont, and Koreatown areas.

Use the 311 app to report dirty bus stops, illegal dumping, or just about any other neighborhood issue. Then, send your request # to our office so we can follow up and keep it clean in CD13🧹🫧

Our team recently joined Lindsey P Horvath & Covenant House for the (re)opening of the Hollywood Downtowner, a former motel that has been converted into 30 homes for young people experiencing homelessness.

Young people aging out of the foster care system face some of the highest risks of homelessness. Projects like this provide not only affordable housing, but also job training and supportive services to help young people build stability, independence, and a future.

Meet Daysi Garcia, the LA native who’s dedicating her time to creating real change by keeping young Angelenos off the street and in the ring🥊

After needing guidance and redirection in her own life, Daysi looked to boxing, fueling her desire to offer that same support to the youth in the City she grew up in.

Since the pandemic, Garcia has grown her program to offer mentorship, build resilience and guide young Angelenos through life’s challenges. Through her dedicated work, this young coach is providing her students with the opportunity to build the necessary skills to make life work for them, all while advocating for the immense gap of funding for youth activities and safe spaces in the City of Los Angeles.

UPDATE: Residential Voting was approved by City Council and is one step closer to the ballot!

Residential voting is about ensuring all residents have a say in the decisions that shape their lives.

If you live in the city, contribute to the city, raise your family in the city, and are impacted by the decisions made in the city — you deserve a voice in the city.

Voters may finally have a voice in LAPD reform, but the fight is far from over.

Our proposal to increase LAPD accountability was approved in a 9-6 vote, but we still need:

1️⃣City Council to vote on final ballot language, and
2️⃣ The Mayor to officially place the measure on the November election ballot.

Follow LA Forward to plug in!

Food accessibility = community care🥑🍇

We partnered with our lovely neighbors El Centro Del Pueblo | Family Source Center to help distribute free groceries to Angelenos, but the work does not end there! El Centro del Pueblo continues to makes sure our communities have access to fresh produce, quality meat, and fruit by facilitating weekly food distributions every Tuesday

Our continued support for organizations like El Centro del Pueblo comes from their impact on our communities. They are catalysts for change. Making sure our neighbors feel seen, supported and of course loved, porque todos comen en nuestro pueblo❤️

Visit ecdpla.org to learn more about the programs they offer & how you can access these resources!
