Today is a proud day for California. I stood alongside our Latina Senate President pro Tempore, who made history as the first Latina to sign legislation into law as Acting Governor.
What an honor to be the commencement speaker at my alma mater, to speak to the students who walk the same halls I did.. From one Bruin to another, congratulations, UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, Class of 2026.
I cannot wait to see what this new class of MURPs, MPPs, and MSWs will accomplish. Keep working towards the social change that we all deserve to see in Los Angeles, in California, in the country and in the world. We are so proud of you.
I was honored to join Cal Vet to celebrate the trailblazing women making a difference for our women veterans in CA. On Women Veteran Recognition Day I want to thank every woman veteran, whether serving as a mother, first responder, healer, or educator, you have always belonged here and California sees you.

A good opportunity for our youth to learn about government is through our paid internship program that accepts interns 3x a year. They get to learn first hand what my district staff does to support SD20 and how to respond to constituent case work.

Today is the 11th day of June which means budget negotiations are wrapping up right now between the Assembly Speaker, Senate Pro Tem, and both budget chairs to discuss the two party budget deal. Check out my video to get a breakdown of where we are headed next to approve the final budget for California.
Your Legislators are gearing up once again at our first practice for the 26th Annual Bi-Partisan All-Star Game. Each year the game helps raise funds for youth sports across the state.

I was proud to stand alongside California’s childcare providers as they called on our lawmakers to follow through on the promise of reaching 206,800 childcare spaces for families and to ensure providers receive the true cost of care in the final state budget.
