My neighbor had a fence installed yesterday, and something about it didn’t sit right with me.

So I went out this morning and measured it—turns out it’s about 7 inches onto my property.

When I mentioned it, he just said, “Seven inches is basically nothing, it’s not a big deal.”

Now I’m left wondering…

Am I overthinking this and being petty over a few inches, or is this exactly the kind of thing that can turn into a much bigger issue down the line?

We're currently moving out of our rental and just discovered this awful damage to the floor.
One of the metal legs under our bed broke at some point and was hanging down. We must have moved the bed without realizing it, and it ended up scratching the absolute hell out of the laminate flooring.
We're kind of freaking out because move-out inspection is coming up. Is there any realistic way to repair or at least improve damage like this, or are we probably looking at losing part of our security deposit?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Need Some Advice: My Deck Stair Stringers Aren't Perfectly Level—Would You Fix It Now or Keep Building?" 🔨🤔

Foundation Pour - 1 ft short - Is cantilever ok way forward? Contractor messed up. We changed the plans before excavation started and extended the addition by 1’. Kept everyone in the loop, spoke directly with the excavation team, triple check with contractor, aaaannnd we came up short by 1’.
Contractor admitted the mistake and suggested cantilevering the foot to follow through with the update plans (plans updated to account for stairs and bathroom changes).
Questions: what are the pros and cons of cantilevering like this? What sort of recourse should I ask for (payment reduction, idk what…)? Any insight would be appreciated. Not a great start.

Is a 4 inch gap between house and rail post acceptable?
Building a freestanding deck and I didn't think this part through. Not sure what standard code is but I ended up with a 4 inch gap between my house and rail post. Will this be acceptable? Not sure what I can do if the gap needs to be smaller besides notching the 4x4/.

$54,900 spent on a covered deck built by a contractor with 18 years of experience—and the homeowner says the project timeline became a nightmare!” 🏠
Missed deadlines, change orders, and mounting costs left the owner frustrated. When does patience become a demand for accountability?

I’m going to sue Lowe’s over this “finished” deck. My mother went through Lowe’s to have a deck built. This is the finished deck. What do you all think..?
