The FBI reports that it cited several drone operators and seized their aircraft after they violated temporary FAA flight restrictions near SoFi Stadium during Friday’s FIFA World Cup match. Those who violate the restrictions can face fines of up to $100,000, confiscation of their aircraft, federal criminal charges and up to one year in prison — a good reminder for fans to leave their drones at home as law enforcement works to protect our communities during this event.

A police chase that began in South Los Angeles ended near Boyle Heights yesterday in a shootout between a suspect and an officer, who was shot in the chest. The officer survived thanks to his bulletproof vest, and the suspect was taken into custody after the dramatic pursuit and exchange of gunfire.
