🎓 Spotlight on our Exceptional Bright Star Graduates! 🌟

🎉 We are so proud to honor Jay’Den Sabal, a recent graduate from Stella High Charter Academy! 🎉

Jay’Den shared with us how his love of basketball 🏀 sparked a passion to pursue a kinesiology degree at California State University, Monterey Bay! Through his involvement in athletics, he learned to be a leader both on and off the field.

As he begins his college journey this fall as a sea otter, we will be cheering Jay’Den on! We cannot wait to witness all he will accomplish. Congrats, Jay’Den! Your future is bright!

📰 In the news! La Opinión and the California Charter Schools Association shared a powerful testament to the impact of our community schools as told through the story of two Bright Star students attending Stella Middle Charter Academy and Stella High Charter Academy!

When Sintia Popovac's life—and those of her two daughters—changed because of the Palisades Fire, both Stella Middle and Stella High stepped in to offer holistic support to the entire family. This is the foundation of our community schools—we provide wraparound support for our scholars because we know their lives outside the classroom can affect their academic performance and school engagement.

Through counseling and mental health resources, both Bright Star students received care and resources so that they have felt safe, engaged, and known. We are happy to share that both Sintia's daughters are thriving thanks to the outpouring of community support offered through Bright Star.

📖 Visit the link below to learn more about Sintia's story and how her daughters persevered despite life's challenges.

Thank you, Myrna Castrejón from La Opinión and the California Charter Schools Association, for sharing this meaningful testimony of one Bright Star family whose lives have been transformed in large part because of our community schools model! The future looks brighter than ever for both Bright Star scholars!
