We're kicking off Summer With the Library and global soccer season tomorrow, Thursday, June 11 at 3:30pm!βš½β˜€οΈ

Sign up for this year's summer reading program and get a free pencil pouch. We'll have materials available to decorate your pouch with custom designs and create summer greeting cards. Draw something inspired by this year's theme, Postmarked from L.A., or add your favorite football club's crest or flag while we listen to soccer anthems from over the years. Other soccer-themed crafts will include button making, jersey origami, and DIY fanzines. Not a soccer fan? Make some original art!

All ages are welcome to join us for an afternoon of fun and creativity.

Community Zines & Art Lab, which usually takes place on the first Thursday of the month, will *not* meet on Thursday, June 4. Our meeting room will be in use this week for the primary election, but fear not, you can still make a zine!

A take-and-make zine kit will be available at the Silver Lake Branch Monday, June 1 - Saturday, June 6 while supplies last. June's theme is Summer 2026 Bucket List. Stop by the Reference Desk to pick one up and check out some books to help you plan your list while you're here. Come back for July's workshop on Thursday, July 2 at 4pm to share your work and make your next zine. ⚑
